Certainly, after a year of COVID shutdowns, everyone is ready to resume our programs and events this fall, and we will have a season of fine singers which we know you’ll enjoy.
Our first program is scheduled for October 16, with tenor Nathan Bowles and soprano Bethany Jelinek from SMU. Other programs this year will spotlight area universities; SMU, UNT, and Louisiana Tech.
The UNT opera department under the direction of Jonathan Eaton will present a program in the home of Harlan Crow in their fabulous home on January 30, 2022.
Mary Dibbern will present a program with Courtney Maina and Christopher Leach in May, 2022. This event will announce the release of their new CD which the Puccini Society helped to underwrite. The recording features songs by the American composer Mary Howe, with permission from her grandson to be the first to record some of them.
Barbara Hill Moore will present several of her graduate students from SMU who will be singing with the Dallas Opera in the upcoming season. Our area is fortunate to have so many talented and accomplished singers to invite to present our programs.
I look forward to seeing you soon and to enjoying our beautiful afternoons of music and friendship together. If you have not yet renewed your membership, please do so soon. A membership form is attached as well as the membership renewal letter from the Tobeys.
